At fifteen, Sebastián sees his mother meet Pastor Elijah alone. He cannot hear what they say. When she asks him not to tell his father, a suspicion enters the house and ends up dividing the family.
Six years later he returns to Mount Hope to ask for the explanation no one gave him. What he finds will change his memory of that day. Knowing the truth will not give him back the years he lost: he will have to decide whether he still wants to listen to his mother.
What My Mother Left Unsaid is a novel about the cost of keeping a secret and the difficulty of trusting again once silence has done the damage.
